Develop, sustain, encourage, and support ways in which the human needs of the world can effectively be addressed by members of the congregation.
Provide an overview of SSPC mission possibilities to session, recommend and justify a limited focus of organizations to support, including how much time and money is appropriate to make a difference, and obtain session approval. Educate the congregation and employ concentrated efforts throughout the year to emphasize the needs.
Oversee the involvement of the congregation and its members in ministry to those in need locally, nationally and globally.
Support local missions:
Consider how our building is, and can become a mission site.
Encourage and support those organizations who share our space to be effective in their meeting of human need.
Cooperate with, and explore support to ecumenical and interfaith agencies in our community such as Shepherd’s Table, MUSST, Community Ministry of Montgomery County, Habitat for Humanity, Interfaith Conference.
Support mission in the global community worldwide:
Consider the international flavor of our own congregation and where we want to invest money and interest.
